 Measure the girth of the dog's waist to insure a proper fit.  Allow about 1/2 an inch for the added feminine pad that you will use.  Please keep in mind, for example:   should you order a size 16-inch band, the band will actually fit the girth of 15 inches, or less.  Therefore, should the dog put on/lose weight, the band will still fit.
