Meet the Artist
A short biography of Oklahoma pet artist, Esther L.B. Clair

Hello!  I'm glad you stopped by for a visit.  I work in graphite pencil , colored pencil and mixed media on fine quality art paper.  Mixed media is a combination of colored pencil and technical pen. I also enjoy doing T-shirt designs, note card designs and belly bands as well.  I work from camera photographs, digital photographs  and specialize in detailed work of your pet's physical features as well as its unique personality.  Below these photograph, I've written a short biography of myself.  Please browse through my site, and then, feel free to email me as to how I can make your beloved pet 'come alive'! - Sincerely,  Esther

I was born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone.  During those early childhood years through High School, I loved to draw and illustrate stories.  Following my heart, I majored in Art at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Graduating in 1972, I continued my art education with a correspondence art course, in Advertising and Illustration, from the Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Later, in 1979, I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for one summer.  Through the years, I have used my design/portrait talent for civil engineering firms, landscaping firms, aircraft operators, churches and private clients.

I have done pet portraits for clients living in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Utah, Arkansas, Florida,  Maine, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, North Carolina, Alabama,  New York, South Dakota,  South Carolina, Nevada, and  California to mention a few states.  I have portraits in England, Germany,  Belgium and other countries.  I have also done art work for The International French Horn Society, Wolf Haven International (Tenino, Washington) the Western Wildlife Conservancy (Salt Lake City, Utah), the Atlanta Area Aquarium  Association (Atlanta, Georgia), Greyhound Pets of America/Emerald Coast Greyhound Club of Pensacola, Florida,  the Greyhound Pets of America/Central Texas, Greyhound Pets of America/Greater Northwest , Greyhounds and Love of Anderson, South Carolina, and For the Hounds, Clemson, SC, among many others.  My husband, Bill, fresh water aquarium fish,  one greyhound  and I reside in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Along with her portraits, a novel and a greyhound short story are gradually unfolding.

Among our other hobbies, we are working with International students who attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.  We still work with our group in South Carolina, and  we are a foster family for Halfway Home Greyhounds.

This web site is dedicated to my husband, Bill and to my late parents, Lenor and Harry  F. Butz, Sr.
